Taken after Arsenal v 1FC Cologne last summer

It has been confirmed today but we all knew weeks ago it was a done deal

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lukas_Podolski

£11 million for a 26 year old (27 in june) at the peek of his career is fantastic

stats ...

Germany - 95 caps & 43 goals
U-21 - 5 caps & 0 goals
U-19 - 3 caps & 6 goals
U-18 - 7 caps & 4 goals
U-17 - 6 caps & 2 goals

1 FC Cologne - 167 Games & 79 goals (in 2 spells)
Bayern Munich - 71 games & 15 goals (played out wide a lot of the time)

im very excitd about this signing, a true world class striker who plays well in all weather types, scores goals, is rarely injured and can play in more than 1 position

as in what?

id have said lukas will play up front and rvp will play off him as although rvp is banging in the goals ive read that his prefered position is the head of the diamond and or the DB#10 role of a false 9

knowing wenger he will try and throw him out wide, which would kill it in my most humble of opinions

you mean like he did with Bendtner?

Lukas did play out wide for Bayern Munich which is why his goal scoring record is quite poor

If AW does then ill get the right hump

you never know with AW, hopefully he changes to a 442 with alot of good rotation and we dominate next year

personally i like both the 4-5-1 for away and 4-4-2 at home

thing is with the 4-4-2 theo is fucked as he will never get a strikers role and is shit at crossing but in the 4-5-1 he can cut in

Very pleased with the signing.

We need stability with our transfer outgoings though, keeping Robin is essential to signings making any overall difference.

I may be a partybreaker here but I always had doubts in him.

He has an impressive record for Germany, but he didn`t scored so much in Bayern (although that he was wide).

I have some kind of fear that he is no good at big clubs. We will see, remember Shevchenko and Torres, better players than him and they couldn`t adapt in new club in England...

ive been looking into what shirt number he might wear

he was 10 at Cologne
he is 10 with germany
he was 10 at bayern

but we have a 10, or do we?

if RvP stays id expect Lukas to get Parks no.9 shirt
