I have used many sources from books to web sites to gather this information so its not the usual cut n paste job

1886

October - Club were formed (In the 'Prince Of Wales' pub 111 Plumstead Common Road, Plumstead, London, SE18)

11th December - First game : Dial Square 6-0 Eastern Wanderers (In a field that is now called 'Tiller Road' in Wapping E14)

8th January - First home game at the 'Plumstead Common Ground' : Royal Arsenal 6-1 Erith

15th January - Royal Arsenal 11-0 Alexandra United

22nd January - Royal Arsenal 1-0 Eastern Wanderers

29th January - Erith 2-3 Royal Arsenal

5th February - Millwall Rovers 4-0 Royal Arsenal

12th February - Alexandra United 6-0 Royal Arsenal

26th February - Royal Arsenal 0-0 2nd Rifle Brigade

12th March - Royal Arsenal 3-0 Millwall Rovers

Moved to the 'Sportsman Ground' in Plumstead

Moved to the 'Invicta Ground'

First Trophies : London Charity Cup & Kent Senior Cup


1891

Club turned professional. Some players did not want to go professional and so formed their own club 'Royal Ordnance Factories' playing their games at Invicta Ground then later at Maze Hill in Greenwich. They played in the FA Amateur Cup and were founder members of the Southern League in 1894/95. They resigned from the Southern League in 1896 and were dissolved in late 1896.


1893

May - Changed name to Woolwich Arsenal (The Football League continued to refer to them as Royal Arsenal until 1896)

Moved back to the Manor Ground stadium

Elected to the Second Division

2nd September - First league game : Woolwich Arsenal 2-2 Newcastle United

First league loss : Notts County 3-2 Woolwich Arsenal

First league win : Woolwich Arsenal 4-0 Walsall Town Swifts

14th October - Biggest win : Woolwich Arsenal 12-0 Ashford United (FA Cup)

actually i read loads of good stuff in a book and need to get dates n stuff from that as early stuff is a bit murky and unclear
